Which seven samples are listed?

The weights add to about 18 g. We use Flat, Tiger, Root Bark, Char, Ant Nest, Merauke and pellet Grade as practical sample names so you can compare the seven formats. They are not harmonized botanical or international grade terms, so contact us if you need species, treatment or sourcing documentation for a particular sample.

What can the kit help you compare?

The kit gives one buyer a consistent set of labeled forms to observe with the same equipment. Useful notes include the selected label, sample mass used, heat source, heat progression, smoke level, first aroma impression and cooled residue. Compare one sample at a time rather than claiming a national or grade scent difference from a single session.

A perceived difference can reflect mass, moisture, surface area, processing, storage, heat and airflow—not origin alone. The kit does not promise that every buyer will prefer one sample or that a higher-priced full-size listing will produce a stronger or longer result.

How should the included charcoal and burner be used?

1. Use the charcoal only in an open-air outdoor location away from doors, windows and vents. The CDC says never burn charcoal indoors, even when it appears gray, black or white.
2. Place the ceramic burner on a stable, non-combustible outdoor surface. Light charcoal only with a suitable ignition method; hold it with the included tongs and never touch lit or recently used charcoal.
3. Use an ash or mica barrier where appropriate and begin with a small sample fragment. Direct high heat can cause rapid charring and excessive smoke.
4. Reduce material or stop if smoke becomes harsh. Never leave charcoal unattended.
5. Keep children, pets, dry vegetation, paper and other combustible material away. Supervise continuously and keep used charcoal outdoors until the burner and ash are fully extinguished and cold.
