Agarwood products are sold in several distinct formats: raw wood and chips, incense, oud oil, bracelets or malas, and the holders or burners used with aromatic material. The best choice depends on what you want to do, what evidence the seller provides and whether the format fits your equipment and safety limits. A high price, dark color, strong scent or country name alone does not prove species, origin, grade or purity.

Use this guide as a product map. For shopping, open the linked Oudgo category and compare the live price, size, material, stock and variation details. For identification questions, use our real-versus-fake evidence checks and agarwood grading guide. We do not treat aroma, sinking, appearance or a home burn test as universal proof.

Rough wood fragment thin wood shavings and fine brown powder in a plain dish.
FormatChoose it forVerify before buyingMain use limit
Wood or chipsHeating small portions and comparing raw-piece formatsNet weight, piece range, listed origin, lot evidence and heating methodCharcoal is outdoor-only; electric heating needs compatible equipment

Oud oilA concentrated aromatic liquid in a compact bottleBottle volume, formulation, intended use, batch information and return conditionsDo not assume every oil is suitable for skin or ingestion

Holder or burnerSupporting incense or heating chips with the correct methodFormat compatibility, dimensions, heat path, voltage and included partsA decorative shape is not proof of heat or voltage compatibility

Our practical recommendation: start with the use method and product specification, not a prestige label. If two listings use similar titles, compare the exact size, quantity, material, options, gallery and evidence supplied on each live page. Ask us before ordering when a listed origin, grade, ingredient, voltage or measurement is important but not documented.

Raw agarwood wood and chips

Wood pieces and agarwood chips are intended for shoppers who want a raw aromatic material rather than a finished incense format. Listings may differ in piece size, cut, net weight, appearance, region label and recommended heater. Compare those fields directly; do not assume that every dark, heavy or sinking piece represents the same resin content or grade.

An electric heater gives more control and avoids combustion when it is designed for the material. Start low and increase gradually; stop if the material chars or produces harsh smoke. If a method uses charcoal, use it only in a completely open outdoor area, away from doors, windows and vents. Never use charcoal indoors, in vehicles, tents or partly enclosed spaces, even with a window, fan or room ventilation.

For a step-by-step comparison, read how to burn agarwood chips with electric heat versus charcoal. Keep the original product label and order record with the remaining material so different lots are not mixed.

Agarwood incense

Agarwood incense can include bamboo-core sticks, coreless sticks, cones, coils, powder and other shaped formats. These are not interchangeable. A stick holder may not safely support a cone; a backflow product may require a specific stand; loose powder needs equipment intended for loose material.

Check count or net weight, length or diameter, burn instructions, ingredient wording and holder compatibility. “Natural,” “pure” or “chemical-free” should not be inferred from the format or fragrance. If composition matters, rely on the current product label and batch-linked seller documentation.

Use incense on a stable, noncombustible surface, away from combustible materials, children and pets. Never leave burning material unattended. Our agarwood incense types and safety guide compares the main formats without promising health, air-purifying, sleep or mood outcomes.

Oud oil and aromatic liquids

The agarwood oil category contains compact bottles that may differ in volume, listed origin, formulation, intended use and batch evidence. “Oud oil,” “essential oil,” diluted perfume and fragrance preparation are not automatically equivalent. Read the exact product page and label before topical use; do not ingest a product unless it is expressly labeled and documented for that intended use.

Aroma is subjective and can change with dilution, storage, skin, blotter and time. Country names should not be treated as fixed scent profiles. When comparing bottles, focus first on volume, formulation, closure, intended use, evidence boundary and return conditions rather than a universal scent promise.

Store the bottle upright, tightly closed, away from direct light, excessive heat and contamination. For longer-term handling, see our oud oil shelf-life FAQ and agarwood storage guide.

Agarwood bracelets and malas

Agarwood bracelets vary by wrist fit, bead count, bead diameter, shape, stringing method, spacers and charms. A 108-bead mala is a longer strand and should not be compared with a wrist bracelet on price alone. Open the product variation selector and check the exact option before relying on a title or gallery image.

Measure wrist circumference with a flexible tape and decide whether you prefer a close or relaxed fit. Then compare the listed inner circumference, elastic or cord construction, bead dimensions and weight. If a product page does not document a measurement or material, request confirmation rather than inferring it from a photograph.

Wood beads can carry cultural or personal meaning, but Oudgo does not promise healing, protection, energy, luck, meditation results or another outcome from wearing them. For care, keep the piece away from bathing, swimming, cosmetics, strong perfume, impact and abrasive jewelry; inspect cord, knots and charms before wear.

Incense holders and burners

A holder supports a specified incense format; an incense burner may be designed for electric heating, charcoal or another method. Product names are not enough to establish compatibility. Check aperture, bowl or tray dimensions, included inserts, material, power requirement and the seller’s supported formats.

For an electric burner, confirm the required voltage and plug for the destination country. A plug-shape adapter does not necessarily convert voltage. For charcoal-labelled burners, the outdoor-only carbon-monoxide rule still applies; a decorative lid, window, fan or room ventilation does not make indoor charcoal use safe.

What evidence should accompany an agarwood product?

ClaimUseful evidenceWeak shortcut
Species or originLot-linked supplier record, traceable documentation or appropriate analysisColor, scent stereotype or country label alone
Grade or resin levelDefined grading method, sample identity and comparable measurementA universal sink test or “premium” wording
Oil or incense compositionCurrent label, ingredient disclosure and batch-linked report when availableStrong fragrance or “100% natural” in a title
Dimensions and fitMeasured specification for the selected variationEstimating scale from a gallery image
Legal tradeDocuments appropriate to the species, product form, shipment and destinationAssuming a plantation or sustainability statement covers every lot

A five-step buying checklist

  1. Choose the use: heating wood, burning incense, wearing beads, using oil or selecting equipment.
  2. Open the exact product variation: verify size, quantity, material, price, stock and included parts.
  3. Match the equipment: confirm holder format, burner method, voltage, plug and safety limits.
  4. Check the evidence boundary: identify which origin, species, grade, composition or measurement claims are actually documented.
  5. Keep the record: save the order, listing, selected option, photos and any batch document with the item.

Frequently asked questions

What is the easiest agarwood format for a first order?

Choose the format you already know how to use safely. Incense is convenient when you have the correct holder; a bracelet avoids burning; a small documented chip order suits buyers with a compatible electric heater. There is no universal first product.

Does a higher price prove better agarwood?

No. Price can reflect weight, size, scarcity, seller positioning, processing, packaging and evidence, but it does not prove species, origin, resin level or authenticity by itself.

Are all agarwood products natural or pure?

No assumption should be made from the category name. Check the exact label, formulation and batch documentation. “Natural” and “pure” require a defined claim and supporting evidence.

Can agarwood products treat anxiety, sleep problems or illness?

Oudgo does not sell these formats as a substitute for medical care and does not promise a therapeutic result. Product selection should be based on intended use, specifications, evidence and safety.

Can charcoal be used indoors if a window is open?

No. Charcoal produces carbon monoxide and must be used only in a completely open outdoor area, away from doors, windows and vents. A window, fan or room ventilation does not make indoor charcoal use safe.

How do I compare two similar Oudgo listings?

Compare the selected variation, dimensions, weight or count, material, included parts, live price, stock, gallery and documented claims. Ask Oudgo for confirmation when a decision-critical field is missing.

Updated by the Oudgo Editorial Team on 15 August 2026. We separated product formats, linked shopping paths to live category specifications and used official sources for trade, intended-use, carbon-monoxide and open-flame boundaries. We removed health, spiritual, investment, universal scent, purity and sustainability promises that were not supported by product- or batch-level evidence.
