Agarwood that sinks in water is often marketed as exceptional. Sinking can be an interesting observation, but it is not an authenticity certificate. Why some agarwood sinks in water

A small chip may settle quickly because of its compact shape; a carved piece may trap air in recesses; a drilled bead may float or submerge differently depending on hole size and finishing. Coatings, strings, metal components and repairs can make a bead test especially misleading. The product form must always be recorded before interpreting the result.

Why a video demonstration is weak evidence
A video can show that an object entered water and changed position. It may not show the entire object, its weight, moisture state, whether it was altered, the water conditions or whether the clip has been edited. It can be useful as a seller demonstration when paired with a full listing, but it is not an independent test report.
Do not let a dramatic demonstration replace ordinary questions. Ask for the net weight, product form, current images and the source of the seller’s claims. This is often a better outcome than damaging the material in a search for a proof the test cannot deliver.
For finished beads and carvings, preservation is particularly important. Surface finish, drilling, stringing and craftsmanship may all be affected by water or repeated handling.
