“Sinking” is our selection name for this Ky Hainan range. We use it alongside the listed 1–2 cm piece size, Hainan origin, current photos and pack weight to help you compare the product clearly. What should the chips smell like?

We currently describe the lot with an earthy scent direction. Agarwood perception can also change as a chip warms, but specific notes and session length are not guaranteed. Species, individual piece, resin distribution, storage, sample size, burner and temperature progression all influence the result.

How to heat Ky Hainan agarwood chips

Begin with one small piece on an adjustable electric incense burner at its lowest wood-compatible setting, then increase heat gradually. Burner calibration and chip structure vary, so watch the material and reduce heat if it blackens quickly or produces harsh smoke.

1. Place the electric burner on a level, heat-safe surface with appropriate room ventilation.
2. Start with one small chip rather than filling the heating cup.
3. Allow each temperature step to stabilise before increasing it.
4. Use metal tongs and let the burner cool fully before cleaning.

If you choose charcoal, use it only in an open-air outdoor location away from doors, windows and vents. Place a suitable ash or mica barrier between established incense charcoal and the wood, keep the chip away from direct flame, and supervise until the charcoal and ash are fully cold. Storage

Keep the chips dry, shaded and separated from perfume, detergent, smoke and other strong odours. Store the lot in a clean, well-closing container marked with the product name and purchase date. Do not apply fragrance oil to the chips because that changes both the material and its heating behaviour.

• Keep hot surfaces, charcoal and ash away from combustible materials, children and pets.
• Ventilate and avoid deliberately inhaling smoke.
• Never leave the burner or live charcoal unattended.
