What We Mean by “Root Bark”

On this page, Root Bark is our product-form/source-section claim. Surface texture and attached bark-like material may be consistent with that description, but photos alone cannot locate where a piece grew on a tree. A buyer needing proof should request recent lot photographs and any source records that connect the product to its batch.

Natural Variation in Every Piece

No universal rule allows root-labeled material to be ranked above trunk or branch wood without examining the lot. Resin distribution depends on the individual tree, injury/infection pattern, formation history, cut, moisture and selection. “Higher resin,” “more oil per gram” and a guaranteed deeper aroma require measurements; they are not inferred from the word root.

How should Root Bark agarwood be heated?

Start a purpose-built electric/resin heater at a low setting and increase gradually until aroma is released without rapid blackening. Material and appliances vary, so this page does not prescribe a universal 120–140°C or 170–240°C setting. Reduce or stop the heat if the piece chars rapidly or produces harsh smoke.

Never burn charcoal indoors. The CDC warns that burning charcoal produces carbon monoxide. If choosing charcoal, use it only in an open-air outdoor location away from doors, windows and vents, in a stable charcoal-rated burner on a non-combustible surface. Keep people and combustibles away and supervise until the charcoal and ash are fully extinguished and cold.

How much material should you use?

Begin with a small fragment that fits safely on the heater. There is no reliable fixed 1–2 g dose or 20–30-minute duration: result and session length change with mass, moisture, cut, resin distribution, heat and airflow. Allow the equipment to cool before removing residue.

How should the product be stored?

• Keep it dry in a clean, closed container away from direct sunlight and strong odors.
• Keep the product label and order record with the separated pack.
• Do not add fragrance oil or water; alteration prevents a reliable later comparison.
• Photograph material that arrives wet, moldy, damaged or different from the chosen variant before using it.

What heater temperature should I use?

Start low and increase gradually. Reduce or stop heat when rapid blackening or harsh smoke appears; no one setting fits every piece and appliance.

Can a used pack be returned?
